Slot132 is a website dedicated to 1/32 slot car racing and those racers in and around the greater metropolitan (Minneapolis/St.
Paul) area of Minnesota.The home track of SLOT132
is Smithtown Raceway—a two lane track created by Steve Hendrickson. In 2005, Steve moved back to Minnesota
to be closer to the grandkids, and the harmonic convergence of winter, boredom, an empty upstairs playroom, and a life-long
interest in motorsports lead to the creation of this 130-foot, two-lane, technically challenging, visual masterpiece. The layout of the track has evolved over the years and so has the group of some thirty racers who have experienced
race night at Smithtown. The core group of a dozen or so racers is as diverse as the cars they race with
one overriding exception—a great appreciation of all things automotive. Non-magnet racing
is held most Thursday nights throughout the year with classes, cars, restrictions, requirements or any announcements forwarded
via email to all competitors early each week. Race night is a fun-filled evening of time trails and friendly competition
with a car club atmosphere of technical tinkering, refreshments, camaraderie, and the excitement of finishing
first on the podium and adding your name to the Smithtown Cup’s record of weekly winners.
